Coles County Associate Judge Brien J. O'Brien was appointed to a resident 5th Judicial Circuit judgeship by the Illinois Supreme Court. He will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Circuit Judge Gary W. Jacobs until Dec. 3.
Lake County Associate Judge George Bridges was appointed circuit judge of the 19th Judicial Circuit by the Illinois Supreme Court. Bridges filled Circuit Judge David M. Hall's position, who retired in July.
