Promotions

Jenner & Block elected Caroline L. Meneau, LaRue L. Robinson, Katharine R. Ciliberti and Gabriel K. Gillett to partnership, effective Jan. 1.

Meneau’s practice focuses on contract disputes, business torts, antitrust, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, insurance coverage disputes and professional malpractice.

Robinson handles complex commercial litigation, employee benefits (ERISA) litigation and investigations. His commercial litigation experience has focused on complex, trial-oriented disputes.

Ciliberti is a member of the professional responsibility practice and has experience defending lawyers and law firms in complex legal malpractice litigation, presuit investigations and resolutions and partnership disputes.

Gillett is an appellate and Supreme Court practice member as well as the complex commercial litigation and securities litigation and enforcement practices.

Burke, Warren, MacKay & Serritella elected Elizabeth A. Davis to shareholder and Eric P. VanderPloeg and Blake A. Roter as partners.

Davis focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and general business counseling.

VanderPloeg focuses on litigation involving Chicagoland real estate owners and professionals; disputes involving motor vehicle dealerships, including employment, buy/sell and franchising matters; manufacturing and sales disputes; and litigation between shareholders and business partners, including fiduciary matters and business divorces.

Roter litigates complex disputes over contracts, trade secret misappropriation and employment agreements, including noncompetition, nonsolicitation and confidentiality clauses in state and federal courts.

Sidley Austin elected Alexis A. Cooper, Erin L. Felchner, Kendra L. Stead, Joseph R. Dosch, Bryan C. Mulder and C. Scott Pollock to partnership, effective Jan. 1.

Cooper practices in the corporate and securities group with a focus on the firm’s private equity practice.

Felchner is a member of the real estate group and represents borrowers, lenders, purchasers and sellers in sale/leaseback transactions, workouts, acquisitions, dispositions and leasing of real property.

Stead represents companies and professional services firms in commercial disputes, securities litigation and professional liability actions.

Dosch focuses his practice on commercial litigation and disputes and white-collar matters.

Mulder practices in the intellectual property litigation group focusing on complex patent litigation.

Pollock is a member of the tax group and represents domestic and foreign corporations and partnerships involved in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and spinoff transactions.

Fisher & Phillips elected Jason D. Keck to partnership. His practice focuses on employment litigation and counseling. He also represents management in all aspects of labor and employment.

Dechert elected Sara B. Roitman as a partner. She focuses her practice on product-liability, class-action and white-collar litigation.

Locke Lord promoted Emily J. Larrimer Savas to partner, effective Jan. 1. She provides counsel on patent and trademark matters focusing on complex pharmaceutical patent litigations.

Mayer Brown promoted Kristine M. Young, Juan Pablo Moreno, Joseph M. Callaghan and Jonathan S. Baker to partner, effective Jan. 1.

Young focuses on several types of litigation as well as trademark prosecution, enforcement and counseling, copyright counseling and domain name enforcement and uniform dispute resolution proceedings among others.

Moreno focuses on structured finance, corporate finance and capital markets cross-border transactions with a particular focus on Latin America.

Callaghan focuses on product liability, including mass torts, class actions and complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.

Baker represents U.S. and foreign private equity funds, real estate investment trusts, insurance companies, opportunity funds, developers and other institutional investors in all types of equity and debt real estate transactions.

The firm also promoted John-David Treumann, Michael Taylor Neidigh and Tyler D. Alfermann to counsel, effective Jan. 1.

Moves

Hinshaw & Culbertson hired Jordan D. Shea as a partner in the product-liability practice. Shea represents companies in high-stakes litigation across a range of industries, including aviation, lawn and farm equipment as well as power tools and consumer household goods.

Chuhak & Tecson added Mollie E. Krupp, Gabrielle C. Romano and William L. Ivey as associates.

Donohue Brown Mathewson & Smyth hired Jessica Kaminski, Emily Miller, Derek Springer and Jack Stamos as associates.

Aronberg Goldgehn Davis & Garmisa added Matthew “Chip” L. De Preter as a member of the intellectual property practice group.

Percy D. Mitchell III joined the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving as an attorney.

Elections

Cozen O’Connor associate Elizabeth A. Olivera was named to the National Filipino American Lawyers Association’s board of directors. She will serve as the alternate regional governor for the central region. Olivera’s practice focuses on employment-based immigration for institutional clients and multinational corporations.

Appointments

The Illinois Supreme Court reappointed Rolewick & Gutzke founding partner David F. Rolewick as chair of the Illinois Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission. His term began on Jan. 1, 2019. Rolewick has voluntarily served the ARDC since 1990 in multiple capacities, including as a member of the inquiry board, hearing board and review board.

Freeborn & Peters associate Bianca E. Ciarroni was appointed as co-chair of the Chicago/Midwest chapter of the Turnaround Management Association Network of Women, beginning in January. The association was launched to foster female leadership by creating the premier business development and networking group for women in the turnaround community.

Leslie M. Darling was appointed executive vice president and general counsel of The Art Institute of Chicago, effective Jan. 6. Darling has experience managing diverse legal issues in the nonprofit, public and private sectors.

Romanucci & Blandin founding partner Antonio M. Romanucci was appointed as chairperson of the Illinois Supreme Court’s Rules Committee. His term runs from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2020. He will work with the committee to study and review existing rules and determine the need for new rules for the state’s high court.

Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale officer Susan Meyer was appointed as Norway’s honorary consul general for Illinois, effective Dec. 1. The position assists with consular affairs and helps to facilitate development of business, cultural and educational relations between Norway and the United States.

Honors

Dentons U.S. partner Jonathan M. Kaden was named business and professional people board president for the Public Interest, a Chicago public-interest law center. Kaden focuses his practice on community development finance and real estate.

Joseph E. Tilson, co-chair of Cozen O’Connor’s labor and employment department, was honored by the Chicago chapter of the Labor and Employment Relations Association with a Distinguished Service Award. The association is a professional society for labor and management advocates, government officials, academics and neutrals to network, share ideas and learn about developments, issues and practices in the field.
